"Great for trips, especially when Wi-Fi is unreliable"
I mostly use Criterion Channel when I’m traveling, so the offline downloads have been a big plus for me. Before I leave, I’ll usually save a few movies at home, and then I don’t have to deal with spotty hotel Wi-Fi or overpriced airplane internet. If I were watching mostly at home, it probably wouldn’t matter as much, but for trips it’s been really smooth and convenient. Glad they include this feature.

"I was having trouble logging into my…"
I was having trouble logging into my Criterion Channel account, so I sent them a message and, didn’t really expect much. But they got back to me quickly and fixed the issue without a ton of back and forth or anything. It was just simple, helpful, and, yeah, I really appreciated that.

"Great films, but I’ve lost some trust in the experience"
I do like Criterion Channel for the movie selection, and I’ve found a lot of great stuff on there. But the community side feels dead. There isn’t much discussion, not many events, and it doesn’t really feel like there are other people watching along with you. After expecting more from it, I’ve kind of lost trust that they’re going to build that part out in any meaningful way. It’s still good for watching films, but beyond that, it’s not very engaging

"Keeping my watchlist organized is so easy"
I mostly use criterionchannel.com through my watchlist, the whole process is really smooth. It’s super easy to add or remove films, and I love being able to come back later without having to search for everything all over again.

"Heads up: Criterion Channel sign-up was surprisingly painless"
Just a quick public heads-up for anyone worried about making an account on criterionchannel.com: my experience was actually really smooth. I signed up with the usual email, password, and confirmation steps, and I didn’t hit any weird pages or have to keep retrying. Logging back in has been easy too. It remembers me on my laptop, and when I used my phone, the email/code process worked like it should. fair warning in a good way: it’s nice when a streaming site just lets you get in and start watching without making it a whole ordeal.

"The extras are honestly the best part"
I originally signed up for the movies, but the bonus features are what really keep me around. The interviews, old commentaries, video essays, and little intros make it feel like I’m browsing through an amazing DVD collection again. Not every movie is packed with extras, but so many of them have the kind of behind-the-scenes stuff I actually want to watch after the film. Easy 5 stars from me just for the supplements

"Not gonna lie, it’s decent but not perfect"
Not gonna lie, the curation is okay overall. It gets things right sometimes, but there are definitely moments where it misses the mark.

"Streaming looks good sometimes, but then out…"
Streaming looks good sometimes, but then out of nowhere my TV gets blurry or starts buffering. It’s not completely unusable, but it’s really annoying, and they need to fix it instead of making customers deal with random quality drops.

"Support that didn’t feel sketchy"
I had a question about my Criterion Channel account, so I emailed support not expecting much. I’m always a little worried with online subscriptions that I’m going to get brushed off or tricked into some runaround, but they actually got back to me quickly.

The reply was clear, polite, and answered my actual question instead of sounding like a copy-paste script. They fixed the issue without making it a whole thing, which was a relief. It was nice dealing with support that felt like a real person was on the other end...

"I canceled my Criterion Channel account a…"
I canceled my Criterion Channel account a little while back — I want to say it was sometime in late March, or maybe early April, and it was painless. I found the cancellation option quickly, clicked through, and it went through right away. No weird extra steps, guilt trips, or pressure to stay, which I really appreciated.

"Pleasantly surprised by the subtitles"
I use captions pretty much all the time, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how solid Criterion Channel’s are. They’re clear, easy to read, and actually stay synced up well. no complaints from me.

"Great for movie nights, even if the timing can be tricky"
I’ve been really liking Criterion Channel, honestly. It has, like, so many movies I don’t really see anywhere else, and the weekly picks are fun to check out when I’m not sure what to watch. The only thing is, you know, some titles seem to rotate out before I actually get around to watching them, and the availability can feel a little random sometimes. But yeah, overall, it’s still totally worth it for movie nights.

"Plenty to choose from"
I’ve been happy with the selection. The catalog feels nicely filled out, and I don’t really run into that issue where it seems like there’s nothing worth browsing. It’s just easy to find something that catches my interest.

"Finally, no ads"
In my experience, the movies play smoothly without those annoying ads popping up, which makes watching so much better.

"Great if You Actually Use It a Lot"
I do really like Criterion Channel, honestly. It has so many older movies and indie films that I probably wouldn’t stumble across anywhere else, and that’s kind of the whole appeal for me. But at the same time, for what it costs, I do find myself wishing they added more new stuff more often, or maybe had a cheaper plan for people who just pop in once in a while. Like, if you’re watching movies on there all the time, it’s probably totally worth it. But if you’re like me and only use it here and there, it starts to feel a little harder to justify

"I actually really like Criterion Channel. The movie..."
I actually really like Criterion Channel. The movie selection is great, and most days the app works just fine, which is apparently enough to feel like a small miracle now.

The annoying part is clicking on something only to find out it’s not available where I live. Always fun when a streaming service reminds you that borders are the true main character. Still worth it for me, but I do wish the regional limits were clearer upfront.

"Sound quality seems to vary by movie"
I’ve started noticing a bit of a pattern with the audio: some films sound really clear and full, while others come through kind of muffled. It’s not bad all the time, but it’s definitely hit or miss depending on what I’m watching...

"I use Criterion Channel a few times…"
I use Criterion Channel a few times a week and, for the most part, it’s been reliable. Movies usually load fast, and I don’t get randomly kicked out very often, which is important to me because I don’t like dealing with apps that feel unpredictable. I have had a couple of times where casting froze or I needed to restart the app, and that can be frustrating, especially if I’m worried it’ll happen again in the middle of a movie. But so far it hasn’t been a major problem. Overall, it feels dependable enough that I keep using it.

"Clear renewal, no surprises"
I was relieved that there were no weird charges, and the renewal date was easy to spot. Small win for me: I actually remembered to check it ahead of time instead of getting surprised later

"Good trial with plenty to watch"
I tried the free trial and there was a lot more to watch than I expected. The movies were great, and I found a few things right away that I actually wanted to sit through. The app itself felt a little clunky here and there, so that part could be smoother. I did reach out once and support basically said, “we’re working on improving the app experience,” which was fair enough. Overall, I’d probably keep it after the trial
